| Responsibilities: |
In your first year you learn the basics. You'll spend 12 weeks in a dedicated training store, where you'll gain an in-depth understanding of how our stores operate before becoming a Trading Assistant, the linchpin of the Buying Team.
After learning about cost negotiation, profitability analysis, customers and much, much more, you'll take on the role of Trainee Buyer which is when the real journey begins. When you have mastered this role you will become a Buyer of your own department
We also have opportunities in our Merchandise Planning team, a new area of the Asda business. The team uses sales data to predict future product trends to ensure the availability of products that our customers need, either in stores or online.
It's always important to plan for the future, by analysing sales information to develop our strategic plan which plays a crucial role in the profitability of our General Merchandise business. It's the chance to join a new and exciting part of Asda and make a real difference to our business and our customers. |
