Asda's Technical Leadership Team supports the business to ensure we provide our customers with safe and legal products, for both food and non food and for Own label and Branded products. Key responsibilities for the team are:
Construction of policies to ensure product integrity.
Monitoring and communicating key data on technical compliance.
Maintaining external relations and horizon scanning for changes in legislation and technology.
Providing advice, support and co-ordination to the business during emergency situations.
The role of the Technical Manager is to provide day to day guidance and support to the Technical Leadership team, the wider technical teams and stakeholders on a range of technical issues across a diverse and fast paced international business.

| Responsibilities: |
Work within the Technical Leadership team to support day to day functions.
Manage projects relating to the non food product integrity and associated policy, processes and training.
Work with key internal and external stakeholders to aid horizon scanning, compliance and business simplification.
Ability to develop and shape policy to ensure compliance for the business and work closely with product technical teams in the development of policy & process.
Ongoing review of policy and process to maintain consistency.
Support the business in incident management and decision making.

| Requirements and Qualifications: |
University/ college graduate in a relevant science.
Relevant work experience in a technical role.
A good understanding of Quality Assurance and Control processes and procedures.
An understanding of manufacturing process and controls.
Experience and understanding of audit and assessment.
A good understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, and their interpretation.
Ability to see the bigger picture, recommend and develop solutions to build world class quality systems.
Understanding and an aptitude to interpret up coming issues and regulation.
The ability to be self motivated with a passion for achieving the best result for the business.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to influence at all levels.
Ability to work on own initiative and a team player.
