An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Toys buying team. Responsible for Pocket Money and Outdoor toys, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop outstanding customer focused ranges, manage and trade a seasonal category to deliver P&L commitments.
Our Toy Event is a key footfall driver for the business in Q4 and we have trebled the sales in the past 2 years. The successful candidate will be responsible for product selection, delivering P & L commitments and leading a cross functional team to land this event

| Responsibilities: |
- P&L responsibility for the Seasonal Toys category
- Deliver volume and value growth ahead of the market and Home and Leisure
- Deliver a product range that stands out from the competition supported by the lowest cost
prices
- Deliver a pricing and promotional strategy to delight customers and drive performance
- Develop the Domestic and Far East vendor base to devise a supplier strategy that will deliver the best quality products with great availability
- Develop and deliver a formats strategy that will grow Direct and Living ahead of plan commitments
- Coach and develop our trading assistant

| Requirements and Qualifications: |
- Experience as a Buyer in a Retail capacity is essential for this role.
- Customer and store focused
- Excellent organisation / prioritisation skills with ability to work at pace and deliver on time
- Confident and clear communicator
- Enthusiastic, resilient and tenacious with a will to win
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data
- Commercially aware with strong numerical skills
