Job Title: HR Assistant
Location: Asda House, Leeds
Description: We are a busy and fast paced internal facing team who contribute towards ASDA being the ‘Best Place to Work’ through managing the people administration in ASDA House as well as supporting projects within the HR Team. This is undoubtedly a high profile role which requires professionalism and tenacity.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the HR Team within Asda House. The role is a fantastic opportunity for a person looking to gain generalist Human Resource experience. The ideal candidate should have experience of working in an administrative role where customer service is critical to success. HR generalist knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential.

Closing Date: 11th August 2010
Responsibilities: • HR administration tasks (including the management and maintenance of all new starters, leavers, personal detail changes, payroll queries, letters, emails, filing etc)
• Work closely with the HR Team to ensure efficient communication and prompt service to our customers,
• Liaise with colleagues at all levels by providing first line support across all mediums within the agreed Service Level Agreements (includes handling telephone calls as well as managing queries through a centralised inbox),
• Work closely with our payroll partners (Ceridian) to effectively manage any pay related queries such as absence, overtime, maternity, tax queries etc
• Provide support for any project work undertaken (including cross functional support where appropriate),
• Support the HR Managers to successfully deliver key initiatives across all functions of the business by providing assistance with any administrative and transactional tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications: • Experience of working in an administrative role,
• Customer centric and colleague focused,
• Proven organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks,
• Good attention to detail and high levels of accuracy,
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines,
• Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills across all mediums,
• Experience in letter writing and email correspondence
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as offer suggestions to improve existing ways of working,
• Be PC literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office packages, in particular MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
• Excellent team player,
• Knowledge of HR Systems, policies and practices would be beneficial but is not essential
• Numerical skills and competence
